120 Foreign Banks Eye Bulgarian Market

The number of foreign banks interested in the Bulgarian market has reached 120, informed the Dnevnik a.m.

Since 2008 started, 28 new entries were made in the list. According to Bulgarian Central Bank the information doesn’t mean that the banks will necessary start doing business in Bulgaria.

The Dnevnik also reported that the list includes powerhouses like Credit Suisse, ABM AMRO, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs.

The single passport rule allows EU-registered banks to operate in any of the community markets without the need to apply for a local banking licence.
