Bulgaria with Cheapest Construction in EU

The prices of construction in Bulgaria are the lowest in EU, despite their value have increased significantly during the last year according to a research of EC Harris Consultation Company.

The expanding of the European Union has a strong influence over the construction industry in Eastern Europe, as in many of the new countries – members the prices of construction have marked strong raise during the last 12 months. For Bulgaria it is over 20%.

The research takes as basis of comparing the prices of construction in Southeastern England, which is accepted as coefficient of 100 basic points.

Upon this basis Bulgaria is the cheapest country in EU as the prices of construction vary between 20 and 45 basic points. Bulgaria is followed by Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Portugal and Latvia.

The most expensive in construction country is Denmark, followed by Switzerland, Ireland and Sweden.

UK ranks 5th with prices round 20% higher than the ones in Germany and France and twice higher than the ones in Eastern Europe.

According to the examination, though, even the lowest prices of construction in Europe are almost twice higher that the ones in Indonesia, Malaysia and Taiwan.
